NCD.DLL
NCD.DLL is part of LAN Adapter and Protocol Support (LAPS), the network adapter and
protocol configuration component of Communications Manager/2, and resides in
\IBMCOM\DLL. Its 22 exports form a coherent low-level network-adapter
hardware-detection library — direct I/O port access, interrupt-flag control, ISA bus
timing, ISA ID-sequence/EEPROM access, and card enumeration matched against LAPS driver
(.NIF) files. "NCD" reads as Network Card Detection: this is the piece of
LAPS that physically probes installed adapters.
