Instantiations

USA based company that specialises in Smalltalk systems, in the 1990's it provided sales, custom programming and support of Smalltalk developments systems under its own name in addition to making add-on products and libraries for VisualAge Smalltalk under the Smalltalk Systems (StS) brand. In the early part of the century the company took over the development of VisualAge Smalltalk altogether and now sells it as VA Smalltalk, the OS/2 version was discontinued around 2007.
The company started moving more into development of Java products in the first decade of the 21st century and in 2010 it was acquired by Google, but they were only interested in the Java part of the business and a number of the original founders and long time personnel bought the rights to the Smalltalk products and the company name and left to found a new company that continues developing and selling VA Smalltalk and add-on products.
