WebExplorer
Appearance

A web browser developed by IBM in the first half of the 1990's and delivered for a number of operating systems including OS/2, AIX and Microsoft Windows. The program pioneered a number of concepts such as maintaining a browsing history and indeed some of the browsing history concepts used in WebExplorer did not show up in other browser until some 15 years later, but in other respects it was quite backward looking, such as the insistence of treating default backgrounds as grey rather than white as all other browsers post 1993 did.
