A variant of Basic developed by Microsoft Corporation and sold by the company as an alternative to IBM PC BASIC to OEM computer manufacturers that made IBM PC clones.

1986: 3.20 - with MS-DOS 3.20
1988: 3.23 - last version shipped with MS-DOS 4.01
