A set of two RPG related DOS utilities sold in a bundle by the Lattice company, namely the Lattice Data File Editor (DFE) and the Lattice Data File Utility (DFU). These were initially sold as add on for the Lattice RPG II development system but proved useful enough for other RPG programmers to be marketed separately.

The Lattice DFE is an editor for raw EBCDIC, ASCII, and dBASE files mainly intended to allow you to make changes or fixes to data records. It has multiple windows support with vertical and horizontal scrolling through data records, multiple undo, has a search capability can search for text or hexadecimal strings, can edit data in text or hexadecimal modes, delete individual records and so on.

The Lattice Data File Utility allows you to create and update data files and produce reports based on the data in those files. While primarily a programmers utility it is simple enough to allow non-programmers to use it as a simple way to manage data files. DFU is compatible with IBM DFU specifications and with the IBM ENTER, UPDATE, INQUIRY, and LIST procedures and it mimics the IBM DFU utility look and feel down to a tee but unlike the IBM utility supports networking and dBASE III-compatible databases.
