IBM BookMaster
Appearance
The Bookmaster is a set of programs developed by IBM that simplify the day to day running of book publishing companies, these include specific tasks like automation of general editing and formatting but also more specialised features like dictionary editing and reference collection, pre-press and so on. These tools have traditionally only been available for MVS mainframe systems although you can these days at the least get some of them for System i.
IBM never ported any of these tools to a PC system, but they did create and port a number of OS/2 programs that either supported the Bookmaster system in some way or acted as a front end to specific capabilities of the system.
