I visit this site everyday and I got fed up about the spam. I made an account and will delete spam as soon as I see it. The account systems needs ask users to activate their account through an email response like most web based forums. - Ronald
I am in agreement with Ronald. How much is all of the spam editing eating up in database space? Let's have the e-mail response system to cut down on spam.

My concern with that it may block a couple of legitimate users. Also, IP addresses can be spoofed so what is being listed may not even be the actual IP address. All of the Yahoo Groups I subscribe to that require e-mail verification haven't had the spamming problems unlike the Yahoo Groups that don't. Also, as the spammers keep jumping IP addresses eventually so many will be blocked that legitimate users will be blocked. E-mail verification just sounds easier for the long-run.
