A computer system manufactured by Apple Computer originally introduced in 1984. It comes in two distinct flavors, A 680x0 and later PowerPC based line of computers designed by Apple that ran a single tasking operating system called Finder (Later rechristened MacOS), and more recently a line of IBM PC compatible PC's that run Mac OSX, an operating system derived from NeXTStep.
