Micro Focus COBOL

A 32 bit implementation of COBOL introduced in 1992 that supported OS/2, Windows 3.x and DOS and was later ported to 32 bit Windows, there were also versions of the toolkit available for sundry Unices but they were typically sold separately and not bundled together like the Win-OS/2-DOS version was. Prior to the introduction of this product the Micro Focus company had supplied a 16 bit COBOL compiler to Microsoft that they used in the Microsoft Cobol product.

IBM COBOL/2 and Microsoft COBOL Optimizing Compiler Version 3.0 (introduced in August 1988) are based on Micro Focus COBOL/2.
