Objectworks FACETS

An add on package for the Objectworks (Later VisualWorks) Smalltalk development system published by the Servio Corporation, it contained a screen painter and UI toolkit alongside a database schema, report writer, menu builder and hypertext authoring tools plus some other utilities and came with full source code. One of the aims of the Facets package was to facilitate the porting of 4GL business/database applications to a Smalltalk environment, in addition to supporting relational databases locally and remotely as back ends that package was also fully compatible with the Gemstone database from the same company and Facets objects would be automatically stored as objects without any conversion.

In 1991 original developer Reusable Solutions took over the distribution of the package, slightly altered the name to Facets/4GL and released version two of the package.

Discontinued commercial software, original RRP was US$ 1000 in 1990, US$ 2000 for version 2 in 1991.
