The Rand Editor is a multi-platform text editor that in its day pioneered concepts such as multi window editing. In the UNIX world the editor is also known as the e editor, but due to the existence of the e editor on OS/2 and other IBM operating systems, it is always referred to as the "Rand Editor" in the IBM world.
History
Originally introduced by the Rand Corporation in 1976 as Ned (New Editor).
