Network operating system introduced in May 1999

OS/2 Warp Server for e-business requires:

  • One or more Intel-compatible Pentium processors or higher
    • Symmetrical multiprocessor-based systems compliant with the Intel Multiprocessor Specification (MPS) Version 1.4 or 1.1
  • 32 MB of RAM
  • 250 MB of free hard disk space
  • 1.44 MB, 3.5 diskette drive
  • VGA video support
  • IBM-compatible mouse
  • Supported CD-ROM drive
  • Supported LAN adapter card
  • Modem 9600 bps (for Remote Access Services)

New features:

  • Year 2000 and euro currency readiness
  • Java 1.1.7 and Netscape 4
  • TCP/IP 4.21
  • Websphere Application Server 1.1
  • Lotus Domino Go Webserver 4.6.2.7
  • Tivoli Management Agent

Two packages were sold separately:

  • 386 High Performance File System Upgrade (386 HPFS)
  • Security Package — (up to 128-bit data encryption)
