IBM WorkSpace On-Demand was a cross-platform middleware solution that provides server-based client management.
The product consists of two components:
- WorkSpace On-Demand - client operating system and software that runs on the Intel-compatible network client hardware
- WorkSpace On-Demand Manager - server-side utilities that are used to install, configure and maintain the network client.

- Nov 1997 - 1.0 - Codenamed "Blue Bird"
- Oct 1998 - 2.0 - Network Station Manager for WorkSpace On-Demand
- Apr 1999 - Feature for Windows Clients
- Jul 2000 - 3.0 - manages following client systems: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, OS/2 Warp, (from Windows NT 4.0 servers)
- Oct 2000 - 3.0.1 - support for Windows 2000 servers and clients
