PEARL (Process and experiment automation realtime language) is a safe procedural high-level programming language with unusually strong temporal features making it ideal for real-time and multitasking systems. It should not be confused with scripting language called Perl and to minimise the chance of that happening many refer to the language by the current standard name of "PEARL-90".
