Publishing Systems BookMaster is a host-based solution for publishing based on the GML application used to create most of the IBM Corporation product support documentation.

BookMaster runs under the control of IBM Document Composition Facility (DCF). Its GML vocabulary is a superset of the DCF GML Starter Set and it provides the tools to create complex document formats.

The BookMaster is a set of programs developed by IBM that simplify the day to day running of book publishing companies, these include specific tasks like automation of general editing and formatting but also more specialised features like dictionary editing and reference collection, pre-press and so on.

IBM never ported any of these tools to a PC system, but they did create and port a number of OS/2 programs that either supported the BookMaster system in some way or acted as a front end to specific capabilities of the system.
