From EDM2

Master of the Empire Development (MOTE) article that I wrote in late 1997. It covered the basics of the game, some GPI techniques and since the game is available for free, OS/2 fans may enjoy it.

If you don't know what Master of the Empire is, here is a little blurb :

"War does not determine who is right -- only who has been conquered and defeated" MASTER OF THE EMPIRE is a strategic wargame of global conquest, diplomacy and empire building. In your conquest you will assemble massive armies of force, powerful economic machines with the ability to give and take vast worlds. You start with one basic city and from this humble start you attempt to produce a global encompassing empire, where you have benign control of all others. In the process of developing this empire you must deal with not only persistent combat with enemies, but also the development of a comprehensive city production schedule. This production utilizes 10 units that must be produced in order to effectively conquer the many empires you will face. There are no consolidations with enemies, only one can survive! Your goal is total annihilation and domination of the globe!

MOTE got good reviews across the board, I don't know if its from the fact that the game was fun or it was only one of the few commercial quality OS/2 games available!

The author (me) has a home page at http://www.masterempire.com , where you can find out info on my current game projects, r&d, etc..
