Gerald Goertzel (1919-2002) was a former employee of IBM's Research Division where he worked in the areas of design automation, data compression, digital printing technology, and others. He was graduated from the Stevens Institute of Technology where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Physics. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from New York University.
