The Rand Editor is a multi-platform text editor that in its day pioneered concepts such as multi window editing. In the UNIX world the editor is also known as the e editor, but due to the existence of the e editor on OS/2 and other IBM operating systems, it is always referred to as the "Rand Editor" in the IBM world.
Originally introduced by the Rand Corporation in 1976 as Ned (New Editor).
