Prominare Inc. was founded in 1991 with the objective of developing software tools and applications for the OS/2 environment. Based in Canada it has developed an international distribution network for its products. Since its creation, Prominare has built a reputation for leaders in PM programming, a reputation which has been recognised by IBM in its sublicensing of the Prominare interface to act as the Universal Resource Editor, a replacement to the Dialog Box Editor.

The company changed its name to Code F/X Inc. in 1999 and started focusing on Windows NT products and appears to have gone out of business around 2001.
