Vincent LaBella is a graduate student in the physics department at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He is perusing his
Ph.D. in experimental solid state physics in the area of
metal-insulator-semiconductor structures using scanning tunneling
microscopy (STM), ballistic electron emission microscopy (BEEM), and
molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). He writes software in C++ for the stable,
multithreaded, 32-bit platform OS/2 to control the STM and analyze the
data. His expected graduation date is May of 1998.
