Well, life has a way of getting in the way of the best intentions, or am I rephrasing something here... I just had an assignment due for which I had three weeks. The final result: a scheduler which runs on separate machines, using a nameserver I also created, room servers for each room, and user servers for the actual users of the system. TCP/IP programming with sockets is a royal pain, and on SunOS 4.x, a non-ANSI clean royal pain. 4000 lines of code, 1000 lines of documentation. Only three weeks to complete it. Ouch. Anyway, enough wining.
Timur Tabi is now running the device driver course! It has a good number of people, but if you hurry, you may be able to make the last cut. Hefty requirements, though, so brush up on that before you sign on.
I will no longer discuss the contents of the current issue, as that always seemed a bit redundant, and with my schedule lately, redundant *and* wasteful of time.
A minor correction for the download link in the WPS article last month occurred. Basically, if you replace ChFile.cpp with chFile.cpp you are up to date.
The Intro and Intermediate C courses have been delayed to January and February, respectively, to avoid the dead-season over christmas. Make sure you sign up early if you are interested, since we need to know if we have enough people to run them at all.
Jorge Martins and family have run out of cartoons for now, although I have asked for more. If you know anyone else who would like to add to EDM/2 in this area, more is always better, so let them know that there are openings.
We have had a lot of articles lately, but few columns. If you, or anyone you know is interested in writing for EDM/2 on some topic of at least tangential interest to OS/2 developers, let me know and we can discuss it. Almost anything goes, as long as it is good. You can look at our wanted list in the "Write for EDM/2" section, but it is out of date and needs many additions.
EDM/2 is looking for a new news correspondent. Oscar's life has caught up with him, and he needs more time. Anyone interested please mail me (you can click on my sig below). At the very least, you should be comfortable writing English, and reading comp.os.os2.announce and comp.os.os2.programmer.misc every day. Preferably, you will have more channels available to you. Anyway, write!

Another new snippet is on the site this month.
Well, I guess that is all for now. Busy month. Oh, one last thing: this issue marks the first time that EDM/2 has released one issue per month for a whole year! Some kind of high watermark, I suppose. Cheers, everyone!

See you soon,
